CBS46 (WGCL-TV) has two employees with COVID-19

Two unnamed CBS46 employees have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.“Both individuals are doing well,” according to a CBS46 (WGCL-TV) statement released today. This past Saturday, the station broadcast its 6 p.m. newscast outside the building while “our cleaning crew deep cleaned the facility with CDC recommended cleaning products.” The CBS46 offices are on 14th Street just east of I-85 not far from Georgia Public Broadcasting. CBS46 declined to say who specifically has the virus, citing privacy issues.



Meredith has confirmed that the WGCL Staff members have COVID-19.

Rick Folbaum has been identified as one of the WGCL-TV staff members tested positive with COVID-19

ATLANTA (CBS46) – As the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread around the world; the virus hit home for the CBS46 family when Rick Folbaum was diagnosed with the illness.

Rick is sharing the story of his diagnosis, illness and two week journey back to health in hopes of demonstrating that Coronavirus patients can recover and play an important role in the medical and social response to this pandemic.

Rick details his journey in an interview with CBS46’s Tracye Hutchins. His full comments are below.
