CBS5's Dana King

Dana King quits KPIX CBS 5 Eyewitness News. It was announced tonight on the 11PM Newscast. She is leaving to pursue her art career.

I personally believe there is something more than meets the eye.

Not necessarily. Think of Anna Chavez, who retired from TV news at the top of her game - younger than Dana King, I think. Other people have walked away, too - usually women for some reason, like Leslie Griffith and Suzanne Saunders.

Nobody's crying for these people - they make a lot of money, even these days. But after a couple decades or more of collecting a very tidy 6 figure salary, why note retire and do something else that you're passionate about ? They were all probably set for life, financially speaking.

On the Sunday night 11:00 show (Dana's last), she said she was leaving to pursue a career in art - apparently she's a sculptor.
