CBSFM should be Simulcasted from NYC to the Capitol Region

Today me and my fellow co-workers who also love CBSFM were talking & Majority of us would love to see a station here in Albany NY simulcast CBSFM 24/7. Even though they are a NYC radio station it would still be really nice to turn on the local albany radio and here CBSFM without the internet. So many of us can listen to them outside or in the car. AM 590 simulcasts Mike & The Mad Dog from WFAN since they are popular. And to be honest it would definitly sound much better than any of the local's around here.

They arent the good OLDIES station they used to be,so is isnt worth anything..

Maybe in your opinion Dude. A look at the latest ratings for New York metro would say otherwise.

But, while I think simulcasting a NYC station in Albany would tank faster than a O.J. Simpson repo service, I can see why folks wouldn't mind it so much. Higher caliber jocks, better imaging, etc. The flip side is those who can hear those stations over-the-air vs. the internet know that NYC radio has relentless commercial interruption, even during off-peak hours and weekends. That reason alone would be enough to keep the NYC FM'ers (rightfully) south of Kingston. (And it goes without saying that NYC listeners have to suffer through the most annoying radio commericals on the planet; i.e. PC Richards, etc)

Now, if WNEW-FM were ever resurrected....

No. They should not.

CBS-FM is not going to simulcast in the Capitol Region, not happening. Look what happened in the Hudson Valley, now that "Cool 92.9" is out of the oldies format and becomes "Classic 92.9" playing much more 60's, 70's and 80's without playing those pre-1964 songs.

Where's the oldies? I don't see it coming back to the Hudson Valley except WZCR's "Cruisin' 93.5" doesn't have signal at all. It splattered WBWZ's "Star 93.3" that was 2 KC's up on that frequency, that's a big mess.

I hope there's going to be a hole for an oldies station in the Hudson Valley, but I guess WKIP would be the candidate for oldies to bring listeners since WCBS-FM came back about two months ago. I guess WKIP would be a place for a format flip in Poughkeepsie to hear some oldies including Rick McCaffery on Friday. I don't listened to the "Solid Gold Jukebox" because the station doesn't come out good at night running this IBOC thing.

WKNY did great on Saturday afternoons playing the oldies from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with Warren Lawrence. I hope one of the HV stations should go to a full time oldies station, maybe someday.

Is there such a thing as a Ritalin underdose?
