CBS's Four Station's Moving To The West Village.

As reported in Radio and Records CBS wil be moving four of its six stations downtown to 345 Hudson Street, which is just down the block from Emmis' WQHT (Hot 97), WRKS (Kiss-FM) and WQCD-101.9.

The stations include, WFAN moving from Astoria, Queens 36-12 36th Street, WINS and the soon former WNEW-FM which will be WWFS both from 888 Seventh Avenue and WCBS-FM/Jack-FM from 1515 Broadway.

This leave WFNY (Free-FM) at 60 West 56th Street and WCBS-AM at 524 West 57th Street staying put.

This makes economic sense having most of their stations under one roof instead of having five different locations for their six stations in New York.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

Confirmed by NERW today

WFAN is moving from the Kaufman Astoria Studios, where The Fan's space was built in the mid-80's for the old 1050 WHN.

1010 WINS has been at 888 Seventh Avenue (the pre-Salem home of WMCA) for at least 15-20 years. 102.7 moved to that address when WNEW-FM was purchased by Group W.

Why is WCBS-880 staying put? Its studios at the CBS Broadcast Center were renovated in 2000.
