CC and cumulus

with all this lbo activity i wonder how is it that th lee and bain capital get into the cc deal and were 2/3 part of the consortium that is cumulul media partners? how does that get by fcc owing all those other stations/ seems like to me that is more concentration of media and crossownershp that eveybody is talking down. i dont know i just dont see that talked about at all.

The Cumulus stations in Nashville are not part of Cumulus Media Partners. So, Bain and Thomas H Lee Partners have no ownership interest in the Cumulus Nashville cluster. As for the rest of your question, there apparently are some questions regarding private equity firms and multiple ownership interests. At least one of those partners also has an attributable interest in the party buying Univision, and there is a waiver application on file for several markets should the FCC find those stations to be commonly-owned.
