CC Bashing...

First off, working from inside radio it's amusing coming onto this board every now and then the rumors are a bit fun to look into, wishcasting, etc...etc..

But man layoff the CC hate... If you don't like the company I'm sorry. But in thier defense - CC is a business like any other.

If a morning show, sales manager or even receptionist aint' putting up the productivity and money... There is no reason to keep them on board - whether it's a radio station or construction company.

You HAVE to applaud CC's act for taking the risk and AT least trying to reach the Hispanic market with Mega. Sure they won't get it right the first time - but you know they are trying. ANd eventually it'll work.

And so what they own 1200+ radio stations and still try to make way for more or expand in other business categories... That's business. YOU GROW. Bottom LINE.

Wouldn't it just be funny if May's just said okay let's just STOP GROWING right here!!!

You grow, make more, improve and continue.

NO COMPANY OR WORKPLACE is perfect. And sure programming on CC Radio stations isn't the best - but if you haven't noticed over the last year, it's gotten alot better from where it was.

Anyhow - that's my message for today...

BTW: How come noone has mentioned Bobby Ramos as PD of Mega yet??? (Looks like Mega is here to stay...)

You are out of your ****inmind! Either insanely naive, or asskiss nut job.

Bravo, well said.

funny how "HectikG81" only has 1 post and just created the account to post his topic....

looks like the clear answer has created a second account so he could find some-one to defend him.

Quityerbitchin', please!

OK...I shouldn't jump into another board like this, but...

You (and others) do have the right to complain about CC, but it's very tiresome to read it...instead of complaining, do something about it!

Even though I dislike CC, they are a business! They search primarily for the almighty dollar! If you dislike this, please go work for the BBC where they can hemmorhage taxpayer's money and create an excellent product. They do hire Americans, you know...

Or better yet, instead of whining about CC, buy some stations and prove them wrong! This is America, and you can actually "stick it to the man" in practice instead of whining about it...

Good luck,

Radio-X

Re: CC Bashing...HectikG81 is TheClearAnswer

No I'm not... Listen - let's clear up this mess and get back to what this board is meant for... Please email me at [email protected]... I certainly don't mind answering your concerns. (I do work in radio)

I don't know who the hell ClearAnswer is though...

Anyhow... Got to give my props to Party 104.9 this morning... Warren G (I think that's his name) did a great job fillin' in for Homie... Sounds like he's been doing mornings for years(and please don't assume that I work for that station). Just giving credit where deserved.

So what's up with the Point?

Re: CC Bashing...HectikG81 is TheClearAnswer

talking about local radio IS what this board is for! clearchannelsucks has made this board more lively than its been in weeks...

bravo, well said.

You know...the original post brought up a good point, but it needs to be taken in context, looking at both sides.

People who work in radio that read this board have a routine understanding of how radio "works." They don't know any other method than what we use right now. It's money, money and more money. They read some posts on here and grow tired of people bashing the radio system they're paid to work in.

For ordinary people, bashing on this board is all that can be afforded.
Many could never dream of buying a radio station and fat chance a radio company gives a (BLEEP) what they think about the state of radio. This industry is not about one individual's personal preferences...it's about pleasing a mass audience, or at least enough of one to garner ad money.

We're all human and we want things our own way. We want Roula and Ryan to stay on the air damnit! We want Sam Malone! We hate CC! We're pissed about Infinity flipping WCBS.

Everybody has their own desires about how radio should be and there's no better place to vent than here.

Yes people like dabomb and kaos need to understand that radio will not change for them, but they have a right to bitch whenever they see fit.

It requires cognizance on both sides -- realizing that radio as a business isn't hiking anywhere and that there always be people who think it sucks, really sucks.

As a radio industry OUTSIDER, I agree with you that everyone has a right to complain. However, complaining on this board should be done with a certain level of respect and decorum when adressing those in the industry. It is my observation that there have been a number of outsiders who have blasted out very disrespectful posts that do not belong on here.

Of course, that is only my opinion... hehe

You're all right.
It irks both sides.
Most insiders here don't really have the floor of the boardroom.
Most outsiders feel they are some whiteboard projection in that boardroom.

From the MBA standpoint, CCC operates like any other large company with tight controls and centralized micro-management.
Radio personalities are employee numbers with evaluation numbers attached to their folders. Stations are properties regardless of the tenure or listener base.

I would be more concerned when the small folk stop throwing rocks at Goliath.

Oh I realize that this forum will not change things, and thanks for seeing my side of things, glad to know people on this board haven't forgot about me, I haven't posted in a while.
