CC BPT audio

I know this is an old thread..but this morning it really hit bottom....
on 560, both Caldwell and Jim Love were HORRIBLE sounding this morning....and while a commercial was playing, the audio was just as bad as the mics!! GEESH!!! Does anyone there notice this??? I COULD NOT stand to listen to that for any length of time (I was back over on 740 in no time...)...also they sounded like no midrange and trying to BEAT the low end into the processing....which just adds to the clipping and distortion!
PLEASE someone buy CC BPT and fix their problems....what a shame for that to happen to once a proud station (especially when I worked there at LVi in the 70s...our audio was cleaner and louder than a lot of Houston stations as a Top 40 music station.......of course a LA4, 4 band graphic EQ and a BL40 modulimiter worked pretty well! You would think as a voice only talk, they could make it sound as good....well so much for that! :)

I try not to listen to KLVI anymore, but the last time I listened a month or so ago there was something else being broadcast in the background (like music or something else, I couldn't tell what it was), but it was very annoying.

What you are hearing (took me a while to figure it out too!) is KQXY Q94...AND KTRH!! It MUST be their EAS receiver (which is normally put inline with the program audio so the EAS box can auto take over during a test or alert)Q94 is the LP2 for the BMT area (KLVI is the LP1 for BMT thus must monitor the Primary for Southern Texas which is KTRH and their local LP2 which is KQXY..which used to be KLVI's FM years ago)....the audio is bleeding through the EAS gear - THIS has been going on for at least 3 years.....Why CC has not done anything about it is beyond me (and they have changed engineers at least once since Rita....you WOULD think the new engineer would fix it.)

When Piper is on the air in the afternoon, you can REALLY hear Q94.....the quiet spots Jack has a lot of the time on the air allowed me to finally decode everything....I heard KTRH as well as Q94 but KQXY is the dominant audio!

So, when they rebroadcast the music that is played on Q94 do they log it or any royalties for playing it? ;D
