Casablanca said:Anyone have the same battery and digital read out problems I have had with my C Crane? It is 5 or so years old and I guess out of warranty. Still, it is not abused, never moved and fresh batteries are always in it. As to the digital problems it make it near impossible to read the call out numbers and know what station you have turned to.
Any suggestions, short of dumping the radio which I would rather not do.
Casablanca, let's face it... you have been conned, pure and simple. You hate the radio and if I were in your position, I would not hesitate to cut bait, junk it and buy one you're really happy with. True, you're out a couple hundred bucks, but just feel fortunate that you were/are not in my position of being conned out of THOUSANDS by a slick fast talking car salesman... I found out quite some time after purchasing a vehicle a few years ago that it was in fact salvaged... No, I won't mention which dealership because they were a big client on a station I used to work for, and I don't want to go down that road... but just let me say that they are "reputable"... WATCH OUT...and they knew damn well what they were selling me... and no, before someone asks it didn't show up on CarFax because it was a rental car and the rental place must've covered up the damage in-house... my stupidity for buying a former rental car.
I guess the lesson here, whether it is a car or a piece of audio equipment, is "buyer beware".
Also webcastboy's post about Radio Shack made me laugh out loud... I don't think I will get much argument here about the fact that 95--- no... 99% of what Radio Shack sells is pure CRAPOLA, up until 5 minutes ago I thought the only thing safe buying at Radio (Junk) Shack was the cables, but after reading webcastboy's post, now I will think twice before even buying an RCA cable there! Gheesh!
A splitter, maybe? Or a pack of batteries? Naw, those are probably garbage, too.
