CC cuts deeply into Fox Sports Radio

Premiere Radio is not immune from cuts. The FSR 9 AM show, hosted by Craig Sheamon and James Washington, has been dropped. Andrew Siciliano, heard at 7 PM with Krystal Fernandez, is also out. Chris Myers (of The Drive at 3 PM) will stay on his shift, but Sean Farnham becomes a weekend host. Ben Maller, the overnight FSR host, is also gone, as is Jorge Sedano from weekends. JT The Brick's show and The First Team with Steve Czaban appear unaffected, for now.

New FSR weekday lineup:

6 AM/3 AM The First Team on Fox with Steve Czaban
9 AM/6 AM The Dan Patrick Show (produced by The Content Factory)
12 PM/9 AM The First Team Reloaded
3 PM/12 PM The Drive with Chris Myers, Steve Hartman and Vic Jacobs (former two hosts brought in from 570 KLAC)
7 PM/4 PM The PMS Show with Petros Papadakis and Matt “Money” Smith (brought in from 570 KLAC)
10 PM/7 PM J.T. "The Brick"
2 PM/11 PM unknown

Terrible. Sad. Unfortunate.

This is horrendous and lazy and another example of a supposed national network that can't see beyond their backyard in regards to programming decisions.

I have to tell you something- it was rather overdue that James Washington get the axe.

The man said more stupid things than any broadcaster I can ever recall. I remember him once saying he felt the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't have won the Super Bowl in 2000 if they hadn't of moved because Cleveland was too cold.

HUH?

And Baltimore is so much warmer than Cleveland . . . .

I truly think Washington was the worst sportscaster I have ever heard on a national level.

Maller I will miss. Sedano has talent as well.

Siciliano was an original host back at the inception of FOX Sports Radio with Tony Bruno, but never was able to take off by himself. He was always just a little too annoying for me.

And I'll never know how good Sheamon could have been because he was paired with Washington.

But the bottom line is if FOX really cared about the talent they had on the air, they never would have allowed Tony Bruno to leave. I believe they would be giving ESPN a run for their money instead of striving to be Avis had they built around him, as the network originally did.

I always enjoyed going to bed listening to Ben Maller and Karen Kay. I was worried FSR would promote Ben to a better timeslot (which he deserved) and I wouldn't be able to hear him at night anymore. Boy was I ever wrong. I really thought FSR was giving ESPN a run for their money since Dan Patrick left, but I'm afraid any momentum they had is totally gone now.

Oh Nooo! Vic the Brick on my satellite radio. He is the reason why I proudly subscribe to satellite. You should never have to pay to listen to the #1 freak on the radio. Blame this on change & Obama.

One more thing. The overnight show from 2A-6A ET is Fox Sports Rewind, which is a clip show of various interviews throughout the day. So no more live programming on FSR overnights.

This is rather screwed up. I'm particularly ticked with Ben Maller and Jorge Sedano being let go. I was also getting into Andrew Siciliano's show a lot.

Is Dan Patrick's show really joining the FSR network nationally? I know many Fox Sports affiliates clear it locally, along with many independent sports stations and ESPN/Sporting News affiliates.

This is major league crapola, folks. Ben, Karen, Andrew, Craig, & the rest deserve a better fate than this--CC, once again, proves beyond any reasonable doubt how INCAPABLE they are when it comes to running a radio organization properly!

Good question. We have an SNR affiliate here that carries Dan Patrick. But didn't ESPN ban their affiliates from playing Dan Patrick?

I've been a big fan of petros and money for awhile, is there a place I can get a podcast or a download of the fox sports shows online somewhere?

It looks like Dan Patrick's now on the national feed. It's a weird transition, considering FSR doesn't even produce the show, and it's on a different clock from the rest of the network.

Oh good Lord, man, keep your politics to yourself.
The only thing this has to do with Obama is these cuts were announced on the day he was inaugurated so it could be a much smaller news story than it is.

Damn shame these layoffs had to happen ANYTIME to ANYONE, let alone people who do good jobs and are good people as well. I've worked with one of the folks on this list who was let go of, and this bothers me a great deal...which is only compounded when I've got to read annoying newbies who want to make this political.

Just seeing what others may think-could Maller end up on Mad Dog Radio on Satellite? They are still looking for programs on that station and they want 24 hour programming, so Maller would be a perfect fit in the overnights IMO...

If SIRI-XM has the money..........

One other thing about this - do parts of the Loose Cannons have ANY relevance on national radio? With what I have heard of Vic Jacobs (which is quite a bit, as I used to stream Rome off of KLAC), I can not believe for the life of me that he could be seen as anything more as STRICTLY local. My guess is the move is about money, money, and convenience. Good luck with that hippie-slobbering-on-the-Lakers talk on a national level. Absolute filler. LA should keep the "#1 freak" in their own li'l myopic box.

Petros, on the other hand, is a star on the rise...THAT was not surprising to me.

I am a big Chris Myers fan and love listening to his show. Listened yesterday to Chris and his two new co-horts....felt I was sitting in traffic in LA rather than Central PA. Can someone remind Hartmann and Vic that they are now on nationally...and it's afternoon drive on the East Coast.

I think he's joking, albeit pathetically.

I have to say I wasn't happy yesterday, most of the great hosts and personalties I like and a lot of other people like as well are gone: James Washington, Craig Shemon, Andrew Sciliano, Krystal Fernandez, Ben Maller, Deb Carson all gone, poof. The only show I still like on FSR is JT The Brick and who knows whether he'll last the way CC is going, although the new shows on FSR from 570 in LA are alright I guess; Chris Myers new co-host kind of brings some entertainment into that show, Petros and Money are somewaht entertaining but nonetheless I was pretty unhappy that Andrew, Krystal, Craig, James and Ben are all gone, I really enjoyed all their shows and now they're gone, all I can say is that hopefully they all find new jobs in radio somewhere, hopefully FSR hasn't screwed up by canning some really great hosts, but I guess it'll be just wait and see.
