I have seen this NOWHERE, so here goes:
Clear Channel just recently updated iHeartRadio for Android to version 3.0.1. This is a major overhaul...and now, the Android platform has the same "750+" stations that have been available on iOS.

A quick check of my own install shows a whole bunch of small market Ohio stations now available that weren't on Android before, and entire clusters (only two Akron/Canton stations before, all of them now, no Youngstown stations before, all of them now, etc., stations from Mansfield/Ashland, Lima, Defiance and other small Ohio markets are up now).
The performance seems somewhat improved from the 2.x Android version, from brief testing of the update.
