CC Made announcement today that WRNO will RIP on June 1st, when it will debut it's talk format.will be interesting to see how that works.i believe it is one of their many BAD decisions..another legend laid to rest..
Tentative June 1st.... Meaning anytime after Wednesday they could technically kick it officially. For everyone else, Here is the article in the Times Picayune about it:http://www.nola.com/search/index.ssf?/base/living-0/1147673055244480.xml?nolaBut oldiesstation, you gotta remember that to CC, Legend don't mean anything espcially in a town such as NOLA that is built on traditions... IS it one of their worst mistakes.. yeah , they need to make it new rock... But CC thinks news talk on FM will work... with 2 in town on FM and gonna be 6 signals sending it out (7 if you call NPR) .. somebody's gonna have to fold , and I would like to see who.... RFLA
as classic rock wrno sucks!! rfla is right. wrno needs to go active rock like 103.7 houston or 103.7 hattisburg ms..but there is no need to keep wrno classic rock. no one listens anyway..same songs every freakin day for 5 years..i'll pass..
For what it's worth, this year June 1st falls on Thursday. They've been planning to kill RNO for a long time, that's why the Hornets games ended up there instead of one of their other stations.. :'(Clear Channel sucks.
