the thread on the cc sale in ohio got way off track.

now that the goodradio consortium has fallen apart, what is going to happen to the cc clusters that were sold to goodradio. specifically, ashland/mansfield, mountvernon, lake county, sandusky, lima, etc.

what is the current status of those stations, are any being lma'd or still controlled by cc??

David...just a couple of corrections...Ashland/Mansfield was supoose to be bought by Saga...we've heard that deal is on hold..pricing seems to be the issue but we've heard virtually nothing about that market.
Mt Vernon is owned by BAS not CC.
Sandusky, Lima, Tiffin and others bought by Good Radio is anyones guess...the trades say(Taylor on radioinfo.com) July 16th and 18th additions offer the most detail into the CC/Goodradio/American Securities/Warshaw saga. It's a mess. Amercian Securities is now looking for a 50 million dollar reduction on the sale price of the 187 stations. CC is unlikely to do that. The deal may never get done the way it is proposed and filed with the FCC. Given the price tag CC was asking for stations CC needed to dump...all in small markets...no one believes that's a good deal except CC. Given the deal is all venture capital money which expect major revenue and cashflow increases...right now..changes will be inevitable.
I feel bad for the employees. It's tough enough going through a sale...it's even tougher when they players continue to change. One thing you can count on... it won't be good for the industry and it won't be good for everyone in the trenches...Hang on...it's going to be bumpy ride!!!!!!

Would anyone happen to have any early-mid 80s 925 WMHE or WRQN airchecks? Or Mort Brim psa-s?
CC employees going through the Goodman sale have to feel like kids being given up for adoption but the adoptees changed their mind & don't want them now so they're forced to stay w/ the wicked step parents who will never give them a raise again & keep looking for ways to penny pinch. What's to look foreward to if/when GoodRadio does take over? Employees having to re-apply for their own jobs. That's never a good sign.

Take it one step further ...How would you like to be a department head or one of the key players at the station or in the cluster when Dean Goodman or one of his then staff came into the market and interviewed everyone but you...now add the fact that Goodradio and Goodman is now out...and as you said...no support anymore from CC...it's sad!
One other thought, how did the FCC allow CC to own more stations then the rules allow and now that "GrandFather statis does not apply for the new owner...seems that the rules are always more flexible for the big dogs...again sad for radio and proves that there is no level playing field for the small town owner vs corporate america...and who looses...all the people in the trenches....Hang in there!!!!

One other thought, how did the FCC allow CC to own more stations then the rules allow and now that "GrandFather statis does not apply for the new owner...A. They probably paid them off in a scandelous way they could all benefit from.

Re: applying for your own job:

enterviewer: "What can you do for our company"?
employee: "Uh...the same thing I've been doing for the company for years-my job."

Q. "What makes you qualified for this position?"
A. "The fact that I'm here now and currently hold the position you're enterviewing me for".

Q."If you could change anything about this company what would it be?"
A."Enterviews make me nervous, especially when it's my job I'm competing with myself for. I think I'm gonna hurl. Oh yeah, and a raise for the jocks". blaaaaagh
