Word has it lots of changes with the sale...GM, OM, DOS among others...OUT!

Bobby Caldwell, the new owner is a small town owner from Wynn Arkansas. Jonesboro is a big market for him and probably is already financially stretched to buy the market. He has got to make his balance sheet look good. Too bad for the good folks at CC Jonesboro. They were ignored by the CC regional peeps and now they have to be subjected to a small town radio thinker.

As far as management being let go, I agree with the new owner. The downfall of Clear Channel Jonesboro is linked to most of the ex-employees. Although, they didn't quite get everybody they should have.

Good luck, East Arkansas Broadcastors. The only way to go is UP!

way to go East Ark B/casters!!!

This is probably good for ASU sports also. CC shuffled them off to AM. Bobby brought them back to fm on 103.9. Now it's probably likely they could easily get back a stick in town.

Bobby Caldwell - East Arkansas Broadcasters Inc. is a top-notch, quality, class act operation.

Have known Bobby for about 20 years. He runs a tight ship and is business savvy.

He's good at turning "dead beat" stations around to profitability. If, anything; these stations will be better stations than what they are currently.

Yeh, I bet Saga in Jonesboro is shaking in their boots because Bobby Caldwell has come to town.

Rumor is that Terry Woods is going to be joined again by Trace Lee mornings. Wasn't that tried before?

Stafford & Frigo long ago tore the crown off KFIN in morning radio. I am sure they stay up nights wandering what Caldwell will do.

One only has to listen Wynne Arkansas and his stations there to get a clear picture.

Yes, it was tried before. KFIN never had higher ratings than when they were a team. That would instantly give the competition, "competition" again!

Tracie...I thought you'd know better than to post something like that.

You, sir, are a gifted comedian.

KFIN was cookin' when Michael Steele was hosting mornings. Then they brought Terry Wood on board w/Michael and that's when things started going south. I really don't see how there was enough head-room in the studio for both of them...

Ratings were pretty good back in the early 90's with
Jim Frigo mornings
John Chase mid days
Steele afternoons
Martinez nights

Dana Daniels was the PD and Clyde Bass was GM. Those were strong times at KFIN.

Right about the time Larry Duke bought out Patteson Bros. and aquired KJBR/KIYS and AM KBTM - those stations just dominated the area. Clyde Bass did an excellent job of making those stations tight - there were times I just hated what he was doing, but in hindsight it taught me well.

Heck where I'm at now in Memphis could learn a LOT from his teachings.

I really do miss that whole period between '89 - '98 when I left - still tell stories from those day.

FYI: Clyde (who is a fellow former ASU Classmate of mine) is now managing the Cumulus cluster in Youngstown, OH/Meadville, PA. I believe he even won some recognition for his work there, too...
