CC needs a tax writeoff, apparently

on WNCW just now:
"Support for WNCW comes from Clear Channel, proud to support Listener Powered Radio at 97.3 in Greenville"

Does CC own that translator is CC/Greenville really giving money to WNCW?

Strange indeed. I know it's public supported, but don't think I've ever heard of a commercial radio outlet support such stations. Technically, they're a competitor (granted, not a real threat, but still).

Capitol Broadcasting (WRAL TV, etc) supports UNC-TV to the extent of sharing documentaries with them for broadcast, so it's not unheard of, but still. As far as business practices go Capitol and Clear Channel are worlds apart.

I think they provide the tower site on top of the Bank of America building. I seriously doubt that they're giving money.

Besides, they already have a tax write off in 96.7. ::) ::)
