CC-Phoenix...Any casualties?

I saw Clear Channel blew out 1850 people yesterday....but no mention of anyone in Phoenix. Does anyone know of anybody being affected in Phoenix?

I have it on good authority that Xtra Sports blew out afternoon host Jeff Dean, who's contract was set to expire in February, the afternoon producer and update man Joe Mack (who has been at the station for over a decade), and Travis Johnson, who was a valuable member of the morning show crew. Promotions excusing all part-timers. However, all of the highly paid upper-management personnel did somehow manage to survive the mass firings, which were intentionally executed during Obama's inauguration in order to mask the magnitude of the dismissals.

On the good side of things--the people, not the scoundrels they
work for--the weekday KFYI on-air staff appears to have survived.

From spot listens both late yesterday afternoon and through the
morning today, I've heard the usual talkmeisters, news anchors
and traffic twins. I also heard Danny Davis on KOY this morning.

The Nearly Bald One mentioned he'd likely be having a tussle with
Bev & Phil* over who gets to gab with the new guv first, so KESZ
mornings are safe (most of us probably thought so).

Mr. Komando did make a cryptic reference about "five people"
(no names) being let go from the CC cluster.

And speaking of his better half, Kim's Saturday slot on 55/FYI has
been moved from 12-2pm to 5-7pm. Still not live, still no third hour.

*: Hey Akbar, the NBO actually referred to them as Bev & Phil,
so did he steal the nick from you or you from him? ;D

We stole from him...but the Nearly Bald One is something the Nurse and I came up with years ago.

Ummmm, Dr., if you nicknamed the Nearly Bald One "years ago" shouldn't he be The Bald One these days?

I may be math-challenged.....

Really lame move with Komando show, 5 pm? Might as well make it 5 am.

So, Saturday radio will be 4 hours of Dr. Fraud Martin and Jan D'Atri telling us how to make doilys?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ::)

Not quite. In between the above two, from noon-3, is a weekend repeat of
El Rushbo (apparently now required by the contract).

Rush has 12-3 PM on Saturdays and Hannity has the same time on Sundays.

Still don't get why they don't give Komando her third hour. At least twice a month in her weekly newsletters she mentions KFYI as her radio home.

In most markets they lopped off several of the new/young salespeople ("New billing? We don't need no stinking new billing?"). Did they chop some in Phoenix, too?
