Well, I'm here in Memphis and here is the real deal. Jones used Atty Carlton Orange as his closing attorney when buying a home for Jones and his wife. "Orange" was supposedly a friend until Jones' $60k came up missing from the escrow account and Orange had been sending Jones' wife very suggestive text messages--Take the wife and the money, I guess. So, Jones, of course, asks for the return of the money, even half and the other half two weeks later. He didn't want this to get nasty. Orange, calls the police, files a false affidavit of complaint that says Jones was texting him (turns out Orange was calling Jones trying to keep from being exposed). Investigators confirm Jones NEVER texted Orange. As probably any of us would do, we would get sh***y and tell Orange to return the money or Orange's wife gets the record of suggestive text messages Orange sent to Jones' wife. Orange and Jones agree on half the money returned. Orange fills a briefcase with paper wrapped in 100 dollar bills and drives off and the robbery unit swoops in. How can this attorney NOT lose his license???? Jones was just getting his own money back that was STOLEN. Read the sworn affidavit online folks. Don't believe what is printed. Now, since Orange's wife knows and Orange had to come clean, he wants this whole thing swept under the rug. He ran for Shelby County Register last year and NEARLY WON. He has political aspirations and this just doesn't fit his husband/father image. Sad. How do you call the cops when you are in the wrong!!
