Ed, I know you got 'Bargered' during your term at KEEZ and WOAI, but lets place the blame where it really lies... Consultants took over and homogenized radio back in the '70's, with tight playlists, liner-card formats, and revolving door talent rosters. When big-bucks are involved, investors will bet on a proven concept, not some hippy's idea of what would sound neat on the radio. Sure, Lowry led the charge for an end to ownership limits, but he didn't invent the duopoly. And it was Steve Hicks who invented 'voice-tracking'. I'm waiting for the day when it will be the radio-channels that become a dime-a-dozen, and content is king. Maybe we'll be able to use what we've learned about communicating, and do some good radio.

Can't argue with that. That's why Hicks was considered a valued commodity at CC. It appears the tide is turning some what with CC getting ready to sell some stations, abc rumored to and suquehanna going to. It should get interesting.
