CC Sandusky running for the hills!

I admit - just gazing over your posts with no way of knowing whether or not what you say is accurate, you appear to be extremely knowledgable about the local industry. But as I read the information you post about BAS Broadcasting puzzles me.

You stated that they had four on-air studios at their current station. That's not true.

You stated they had switched their entire operation over to NexGen, and that isn't true. How are we supposed to trust the bulk of what you say if you can't even get these small details correct?
 
Supposedly Elyria Lorain is back in the running so it will be down to who can bid the most.

BAS Broadcasting has an investor who just purchased stations in Ashtabula and owns a couple in Jamestown NY. Plus has investors in Columbus, and a large revolving account out of Cincinnati.

ELYRIA Lorain has investors but they are in Cleveland and own a couple of newspapers.

This could make it interesting, maybe ELB gets 1450 and 102.7 while BAS gets 100.9 or the whole deal goes to ELB or BAS. Who knows?

Fremont building has a studio with 2 computers in it running WOHF and WFRO. However there is room for more stations.

As for the crap saying that all the stations have switched over to Nexgen. I dont know where your pulling that out of your backside, I wish I knew. However I do know that Mount Vernon runs of Nexgen and if they purchase both Sandusky and Fremont they will get Nexgen with those as well.

Shelloutfalter, please amuse me with your wonderful thoughts on why ABC Radio Networks is the most amazing network service around. Its actually the worst in most peoples opinions, thats why once contracts are up people are leaving left and right. Please dance around and amuse me Judy...

Here you're right. They have one studio with computers running the stations. This is a far cry from the four on-air studios you talked about in your previous post.

Very possible.

The confusing language and ambiguity in your initial post led me to believe you were saying that Fremont switched over its entire operation to NexGen. I re-read the post, and realize now that you were talking about the Sandusky cluster and not BAS. My bad.

And I'm not going to parade or campaign for ABC Radio Networks. It is what it is - network radio.

I much prefer live programming to be honest. But unfortunately the mega broadcasters in this world have made it difficult for small market stations to survive and compete without the assistance of the bird or an abundance of syndicated programming.

The market is what it is, and radio networks exist because there's a demand for them.

I have to somewhat agree with Carlos.
Wise, you must be either sales or corp.
I once worked at a station where the SM got his own brand new leased Lincoln in a trade out deal. He lived across town. The overnight girl lived close to 70 miles away in Jersey & had to drive a beat up old Datsun in & back every night with it always breaking down. Sales always got lunch, gas, clothes, trips, concert & sports tx while still making a decent living. The only jock that ever got any perks was the morning show guy on the AM talk station or pizza & pop at a ratings party. When you're working your heart out living paycheck to paycheck, why not get some kind of bonus like the rest of the staff? That's why I got out of programming. Throw the dogs some bones!

The owner who just purchased the Ashtabula stations is Mr. James Embrescia of Media One Group, LLC in Cleveland. And since there's talk of corporate mismanagement on a lot of these boards, I'd like someone to find out for me the details of the 20 or so lawsuits that Mr. Embrescia has against him.

That would be Jim Ambrescia, who's Sweet Home Ashtabula bought the CC/'Bula stations.

His brother at one time owned WDOK, which was known as a "Wilson, Ambrescia, Pollack Company"

First of all, those days of sales getting freebies are largely over in this corporate radio world. However, if you think the salespeople are better off than you are, there's nothing stopping you from applying for the next sales opening. I will warn you, it's not as easy as it looks, 80% who try it don't survive the first year, and you'll have to endure a lot of pressure and rejection. However, if you're the one in five who makes it, you'll make more money than 99% of the on-air people and have a lot more job security.
 
As I have said many, many times, and I will take full credit for this like I always do, WAITT Radio Networks is the best radio network because they have "live and local" sound. They have me convinced that there is a real breathing body in the studio. BAS Broadcasting chooses to run a dead and decaying monster in ABC Radio Networks. When is the world going to realize that it is better to WAITT?

Kentucky Fried must feel special now that the "good ole boys" have invested in, among other things, a giant coffee can stuck in the ground with a couple dishes hooked up to it. They probably don't have to take turns playing on their computer now since "not picking up" all those employees had to free up a mess of office computers to enjoy!
 
I would totally respond to the childish posts by our friend "Fried". However, while his brain-cells must be fried by the ABC satellite dishes, im on a consultant call with a radio station we flipped from ABC to WAITT last summer...oh, and their ratings nearly doubled. How amazing is that!

If you had an iota of accuracy or credibility, I'd probably waste more keystrokes responding, but I can see you're lacking both those elements.
