CC soft AC Christmas music

I just recently noticed that in my area, San Anonio's Soft Rock 101.9, KQXT, and Houston's Sunny 99.1, KODA, have been playing the same exact playlist of christmas at the same time! Is this something that is going on on ALL CC soft ac stations? Stream Sunny 99.1 and listen to your local CC soft ac (if you have one) station at the same time.

I only wish if Sunny 104.5 in Philadelphia still existed then I can really tell. It is also a possibility that other CC AC stations(WLIT in Chicago, WLTW in NYC) might have the same playlist as well.

Very likely it is. I have a friends who works at a CC A/C station and once Christmas hits...Corporate schedules the holiday logs that the CC stations use. Local programmers get a holiday break from scheduling music.

This gives a big ratings spike to all CC AC stations for the Fall ratings period. I am surprised so many non-CC ACs don't go all Christmas.

Not in LA. I know from a friend that the PD does all the scheduling. However since CC Corporate is located in Texas they may take a more active role...

Well, I got a non-CC AC station with all XMAS brigade since Nov 16th, that is my 101 The Rose and I expect a big ratings boost for them as well. That is the ONLY thing I like about them being all XMAS because I HATE the music!!! They are the best AC station, no CC joint could match up!!!

Don't know who your 'friend' is, but that's a bunch of hooey. Clear Channel doesn't now and has never scheduled music corporately. And, while I'm on the soapbox, let's re-visit the 'banning of the Dixie Chicks' incident from a few years back. It did happen, but it wasn't Clear Channel it was Cumulus.
