Are job losses are on the horizon for Clear Channel Phoenix if they are to follow other markets like Dallas? Anybody here anything? I'll keep my ears open.

staff reductions soon and i hear cc is gonna let some phoenix stations go next year; which bonneville will probably pick-up.

cut's are being made everywhere and i guess it's just a matter of time in every market where there are big time players/company's. do it with less, i guess.

The Clear Channel "cluster" in Phoenix had staff reductions this time last year. They got hit before most markets did. And they're one of the most profitable for CC. Don't expect many more cuts.

The question remains: why do we need three AM sports parking lots in Phoenix? Gumpdusky has hung on longer than anyone imagined. And with Sports Parking Lot 6~twenty snagging all the sports, what future does XTRA 9~ten have? The problem with CCU unloading XTRA and Kay Oh Why, is they won't make much of a dent in that massive debt load.

I hear from connected sources that they're lopping off some higher salary people like web editors and replacing them with new hires for less money. Also rumor is one CC Phoenix news station has been asked to do news for other markets where staff are being let go.

Geez, the traffic twins, et al, already do traffic for El Cheapo's
cluster in Tucson.

Brad- gone from Mix FM about 3 weeks back, hiring freeze in effect (Journal)
CK- gone from Hot 98.3 about 5 weeks back (Cheap Channel)
