CC TO SELL HUDSON VALLEY STATIONS

W

I guess it's old news by now; CC has announced that it will be selling off it's Hudson Valley stations. This is huge; now the possibility exists that these stations can go back to independant ownership. Problem is, stations get sold and people lose jobs. Hoping something good happens here; wondering how it will go down: who will wind up with the new tucker dr building, and the addition thats not finished?? Lots of questions, should be interesting to see what happens. History in the making again!!

Clear Channel has been cleaning house across the country anyway; even getting rid of people
Rated #1 in their time slot. Locally we had the Donnie Michaels debacle at WBWZ / WPKF and the dismissal of Shrek at KISS, WPKF. Hopefully Things can only get better .

It'd be interesting to see Pamal w. Kiss to compliment K104 and Lite or Star to compliment HUD. Wouldn't be suprised to see E.Strauss get back in the game with the rest of the stations, if he can raise the cash.

Anyone have $90million they can lend me? We can turn this market upside down!

Eric Strauss and co might very well get into the hudson valley radio game when cheap channel holds their fire sale; they recently bought some stations from Entertronics in Glens Falls. As I said, history is being made, and the best we can hope for is Intelligent Independent ownership!! ;D

Given what's going on over at the soon-to-be-ex-Entertronics stations right now, what makes you think Strauss would be a good choice? Does the Hudson Valley really NEED more bad automation and voice tracking where there was once live talent? Or 70s and 80s love songs on an Oldies station? And at least CC had spot load limits.

It would be cool to see one of the these signals flip to 'Jack FM'. I'd have my radio on 24/7 at home if this occured... as it stands now WCBS is 'car only with so-so reception' in this neck of the woods.

Does anyone know if there is a site that lists all stations clear channel is sellling nationwide? Any info, greatly appreciated. Thankx.

I don't know if there is whole list compiled.

You can try Google search or Radio and Records..

You may try to go to "other local markets" on this site, and drill down to the small markets/states

The word is 448 stations in the smaller-than-top-100 markets...that should narrow it down some.

If you were posing as a BUYER of some of those stations, the info will likely be there for you.
