CC Transferring KHKS and KZPS to Triple Crown

Interesting. More of the same under another name? Most likely.

Triple Crown will assume the CC name and be a private held company.

Triple Crown, eh?

And the three self professed kings of programming are?

Ah, on second thought...Probably three lawyers
who listen to sappy love songs all day long.

Don't expect a Seattle Slew.....

But what will happen to KDMX, KDGE, and KEGL if just KZPS and KHKS are bought and if Triple Crown will assume the CC name, what will be the name if the company owning the other 3?

These are just licensing changes. Because all of the stations were owned by different companies and bought at different times, (and bought under different deals) the license holder(s) are different. These just happened to be the properties bought with one of the AMFM deals. All of the CC stations will be transferred to the new license holder in due time.

Triple Crown will most likely end up as another "Lame Horse". Back to the barn boys.

KDMX and KEGL are licensed under the Jacor/Citicasters name (still) even though CC bought Jacor in 99...But I am curious as to why KDGE was not included in the 1st move to the new owners since it was an AMFM station...and so were KZPS and KHKS. I havent looked at the FCC data base to see which division name they were licensed under in the last few years..

KDGE is still licensed under the Capstar brand and if I recall didn't come over with the initial takeover either. CC didn't actually take full control of them until they swapped the 94.5 frequency for the 102.1

Then again, could CC be secretly shedding a few pounds?

KDGE on 102.1 was part of AMFM (originally Capstar, ran by brother Steve Hicks, was abosrbed by the Borg before the CC deal) KZPS and Kiss were Evergreen if memory serves, which became AMFM.....(whew..too much brain thining for this morning...I need for java)

In some larger markets, Ive read where the "new" CC may have to shed one signal since this may be classifed as a sell and thus new ownership rules kick in that were not in place when the monster gobbled what they did....will prove interesting to say the least...its the rural folks that are really looking forward to CC selling off the stations in those markets...they MAY actually get real radio back

Actually, the folks I've talked to in smaller markets aren'tt oo excited about the sale. Thay'll lose access tot he CC music database, research, the VT talent, etc. etc...Those guys have good working relationships with the larger CC clusters. There's been a lot of guys that moved up the chain thattaway. That's likely to change...and as far as goin back to "live & local"....I hear the new owner for the Tyler, Texarkana, and Lufkin CC properties is an outfit form Arizona.

You really don't expect Satan to change do you? ;)

Heh...reminds me of when Steve Hicks promised Bill Camfield (Icky Twerp) and partners
building 106.7 a million dollars if they would move 106.7 20 miles farther southwest from Fort Worth, downgrade from C1 to C3 and not oppose Hicks' moving 106.1 from Denton to Cedar Hill. One party honored the agreement, one didn't....
