I don't think WWVA, GST, WBZY, Will ever go up...Melissa Forest thinks she is PD...everyone in the building if scare of her...There is no respect for that "woman". Hope other station take advantage of it.

I wonder if “AirMan” works the building of death.

Seriously,

WGST: I wonder if someone in the Texas home office feels the need to boast WGST. Is poor performance in Atlanta having an effect on Rush’s national rates? The only real help WGST can get is a facility (FM) improvement. The AM band has issues especially in Atlanta with the crappy ground conductivity and urban sprawl. It might not is financially prudent to improve 640’s coverage with Cox / WSB “throwing in the towel” on 750 AM with 95.5 FM. Had 640’s coverage been up graded twenty or more years ago (buying stations and them shutting down: 640 Wildwood FL, 640 Thibodaux LA, 640 Blountville TN, and WFNC Fayetteville NC (this is now Cumulus and I do not think they will sell!), the AM dial in Atlanta might be different.

105.3 and 105.7 should be merged in 105.5 with an in town antenna, but then again Cumulus has them blocked with 105.5 in Macon. CC owns 105.5 in Rossville Ga so that is not too hard to deal with. Of course there are legal issues with the extra COL.
Barring a major or “Mega” up grade in CC’s facilities, the logical thing is to tie 640, 105.7 and 105.3 together if the 105.7 / 96.7 dance CRH or what ever it is (I kind of like it but that is the kiss of death to an Atlanta format) deal does not take off.

But right now if the New Orleans allegations at true, CC has “bigger fish to fry”.

If WGST shut down the 2 Florida stations on 640, got the FCC to say to hell with the Cubans, and found a way to throw a directional night signal southeasterly from a northwest part of town (my daughter suggested the WDWD array, and there are others in Cobb County), could that work? I'm not a radio engineer, nor do I even play one on television...

As an aside, WGST's coverage was upgraded about 20-25 years ago with the move from 920 to 640.

That was an upgrade? Didn't work that way for me.

Who is this Melissa Forrest woman's name that keeps popping up? Based on the comments here, it's almost like she's the Nanci Pelosi of the place..

And in a separate note, I still believe in WWVA, but I'm beginning to think they would've been better off doing everything they're doing now - but instead ON WBTS. I have more to say, but I'll wait about a month before I say it. Lets see how they do once we exit the Christmas / holiday ratings time period.

A lot of people disbelieve in WWVA. I just wonder how many people used to also believe that WBTS and WWWQ, or taking it back even further, the Power 99 sound could never work successfully? Even as mediocre as WBTS was, they still managed to pull decent ratings. WWVA could do the same on (shall I say it again?) a signal that they deserve. As a matter of fact, I wont even wait a month. I'll say it now. WWVA does need some minor improvement when it comes to music playlist and even more when it comes to music playlist arrangement, but I believe even without those improvements, WWVA can and will still improve ratings-wise within the next three months. Of course, they'll never reach their full potential with their current signal and playlist organization, but if people really believe that this current ratings period is the best they could do, then the station is seriously being underestimated. I wish I was around to see what type of talk was going on as WWWQ and WBTS were still unproven and growing.

I am pretty sure they did not have the option of "doing everything they're doing now - but instead ON WBTS."

WGST was in an FM simulcast with 105.7 some years ago. The FM signal is actually less of a rimshot than WSBB's but GST's nighttime signal is pretty anemic. When the GST simulcast was going AND they had the Braves, they gave WSB a run for their money, so while signal is an issue, the simple fact is that WSB has out-programmed WGST.

I, personally, have never had a reception problem with 105.7. But judging from the comments on this board a lot of people have.

I do agree that WGST was allowed to go to seed until just recently, except for 9-3 thanks to Beck and Rush.

How's it going? Are you able to pick up WiLD 105.7 / 96.7 where you live?

Yo yo big bro. The going is good. Howve you been this winter break? I dont think we get either of those over here. 105..7 is straight up static and 96.7 is the staticky version of 97.1 The River. Btwz, ive picked up some pretty darn good music from you. Keep layin down the funk.

Well, hmmm......
