cceng what's the status, please on the WFLF jammer?

The 94.5 jammer is back on full power and can't even hear WFLF but it's in the background. The signals are playing tug a war. What's the status update about getting the station out of 94.5?

-Rob

Weak signal because your too far away. How's the signal in the FWB city limits or east of the Hurlburt filed gate? I was supposed to go work down Destin way today. I decided to send some other people to do the job so I wouldn't have to deal with spring break traffic on 98.

Guess what I hear down at Olive Garden.. you guessed it.. WFLF! It's weak to non ex. downtown. The small little signal that shouldn't be there.

hum... The Patriot can't be heard well in downtown FWB? They've got problems. Seems like they would want to move to a clear frequency without being asked politely by cceng.

He should do it right and apply for a 3,000 W license. TY for the update. At least be heard in Destin once the switch has been done.

Is there even any room on the dial for a 3k Class A that city grades FWB? I think the best that could be done would be a couple more of the 250 watt translators on Hollywood then the dial would be full.

He could put one up on 95.1, 97.1 99.1.. and that shouldn't interfere with the near by stations.

I agree with Mr. Poledo.

It appears to me that the FWB radio dial is already crowded and would be unable to support another full powered FM station.

That's what I discovered while visiting the Radio-Locator web site.

95.1 has a co-channel station less than 50 miles to the east in Ebro-Panama City, 95.1 is first adjacent to 95KSJ Mobile, 95.1 is third adjacent to local KLove 95.7 Navarre. I doubt this frequency could be used for much of anything.
97.1 is third adjacent to local 100kw Z96.5, could only be used for a translator or possibly come available in the next LPFM auction
99.1 is second adjacent to local 50kw 99Rock, could only be used for a translator.

See where I'm going Rob? As far as I can tell the dial is full. I assume some EXISTING station could move to FWB as a class A but that probably wouldn't be a good idea. I also assume a class A might fit somewhere on the Elgin AFB reservation that could reach FWB, but the Air Force would have to want to get into the radio business and build/own a FM radio station for that to happen. Not completely out of the realm of possibilities, but highly unlikely and I don't believe there is any precedence.

I love 107.9. I love listening to Club LaVala (I might go there someday but not during spring break) I'd like to meet the DJ's and find out what gear they use. I'm a total analog junkie and love the sound of vinyl vs CD's and mp3's (bleh)

Man, LaVela during Spring Break. Bikini girls from FSU. Doing Whipits on the balcony. Getting your ass beat buy gym rat bouncers for trying to stage dive. Winding up in the underground rave dance room somehow. Getting drunk enough to jump into the pool. Good times. Good times.

My point.. I'm almost 40 and they wouldn't want someone like me. All they want to do is drink, all *I* want to do is rig up an antenna and go on a DX chase (get my point)

Yea, FWB is full, I'm gonna gander that 107.3 will change format and hopefully spare us in the future
BTW Z96 more hit music NOWWWW has caught the trend. WTF does NOW have to do with it? The girl voice tracking that sounds like she caught some rare E Skip and is every excited (to put it lightly)

Now if WABD 104.1 and Z96.5 kinda teamed up together they might be able to cut some cost and make things appear to be local (even if some FWB air shifts are actually voice tracked by DJs in Mobile that are familiar with the area.) A live/local overnight simulcast between 104.1 and 96.5 might be a good place to start, expanding to a live/local weekend simulcast after the tourists season. Separate Mobile morning show on 104.1 with a FWB/Pensacola morning show on 96.5 might be cool.

Do either of these stations still run the Dick Clark Weekly top 40? Or Rick Dees top 40 show on the weekend?
