CCR AND MICROSOFT PARTNER ON NATIONAL HD DATA PLATFORM

Very interesting article - thanks ! Looks, like it uses existing FM signals - actually, this may be good news, as possibly iBiquity is giving up on IBOC, over the traditional broadcast bands, since IBOC has generated little interest, and causes adjacent-channel interference, with only 60% the coverage of analog. Luckily, all that matters, is that IBOC remains unfeasable, during nighttime AM broadcasting. I would assume, that iBiquity has seen the writing-on-the-wall with IBOC, with only a few tens-of-thousands of HD radios sold, over two years.

I wonder, what FM frequencies they are using, because it is already in our service area ?

"As a thank-you to current subscribers and an incentive to those who haven't yet signed up, Microsoft is offering an additional three free months of MSN Direct service to all yearly subscribers. The subscription price is $59 for a full year (with three months free)* or $9.95 a month (with the first month's subscription free)."

This is just a gimmick - who's going to pay for silly gimmicks, that act as glorified pager systems ! Almost, everyone has a cell phone, and for $20/month, can get Internet access, instead !

This baby is ranked 40,000th in electonics !

Looks like MSN Direct is real popular, too:

Now, we can say: HD Radio - a gimmick, within a gimmick ! Everyone, hates Microsoft, anyway ! LOL ! :D

This will succeed because, well, all of Microsoft's ventures do, right? ;)

Will this continue Microsoft's trend of wildly successful consumer ventures? It's too Zune to tell! ;D

Hey, buddy. Gotta smoke?
