102.1 HD Name?

The River seems to be taking a more mainstream approach to AAA with more familiar artists than what you'd hear on WXPN based on the little bit I heard.
______________

Alright. We need to reclassify The River away from AAA. If anything this sounds more like a natural progression of what Max would sound like if existed today.

Playing Coldplay, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Train, and U2 could be AAA. But then you kill it by throwing in Creed.

That could be said about a lot of things...

I'd definitely classify 106.1HD2 as a Modern AC. I heard Hootie into an overplayed U2 80's song, and now they just went from Third Eye Blind to Goo Goo Dolls "Slide". Very familiar, nothing like XPN.

As for Spanish Q, I think it's "Fuerza", which Google tells me translates to "force". Love that Aventura song the aircheck starts out with BTW.

I am going to stretch the hell out of this one and say that this new 106.1 HD channel sounds like something The Eagle could've eventually transitioned to :)

It's Eagle 106 all grows up!!!!

When you tune in to the one or two AM/FM stations in your area that actually play something you like, and they're talking or playing commercials ...you're "paying for radio".

There are some AAA stations that play Creed. CC's Cities 97 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Greater Media's WBOS in Boston are two that come to mind. Personally, I don't think it fits the format, but Hot-AC leaning AAAs play Creed along with Nickelback, Hootie and the Blowfish, No Doubt, and others.
