CC's Layoff Extravaganza, Fall 2012 Edition. Will it hit NY?

With LA getting hit (KOST's Stella Prado out), it looks like NY could be next up on the big old CC layoffs.

When major markets get hit, you know CC's in trouble.

Dunno if it's the same cuts, RB, but the Los Angeles Radio-Info forum says that Riverside/San Bernadino is seeing a few desks emptied.

Happy Black Friday, CC.

According to this list, not one head in Market No. 1 has been put in a duffel bag as of yet. And considering their acquisition of WOR earlier this year, that's quite amazing.

CC is the industry leader in sucking the life out of radio.

But all but one of their stations (not counting WOR) are in the Top 10 in ratings in New York. They must be doing something right.

I wonder if Cadilac Jack got the more polite version of a layoff? A "mutual separation" where the employer wants to separate more than the employee.

Yes...addendum to above link I believe, so yes Buckley was who fired her (wasn't sure)

>>Buckley Broadcasting CEO Joe Bilotta released the following statement: "The acquisition of WOR has officially closed. We thank our employees for their service over the years and wish them all the best in the future. We are providing our workers with a generous severance package, and Clear Channel will absorb a number of the station staff."

@Radioinsight tweet: Clear Channel has closed on its purchase of 710 WOR New York. Some staffers have been let go including syndicated host Dr. Joy Browne.

And there's more from @radioinsight:

Gov. David Patterson and most of the WOR news department out as well. CC's Total Traffic Network handling News already.

I expected it, but how Clear Channel of them to do this now.

Let's see if CC fills the void left by Dr. Joy Browns with Dr. Daliah. ;)

(But knowing them, they'll likely use the time to clear other Premiere programs.)

I'd have to think Hamburg either gets moved or just let go, since Rush is going to take over the 12pm-3pm slot. Either her or Dave Ramsey is let go, eventually.

That station just leans too old. Changes have to be made but I don't know if CC is going to make the right changes.

Anyone thinks Andy Dean gets a permanent spot weeknights?

God, I hope not ... the kid's an empty suit ... or should I say playsuit. I just tuned in 710 to hear Jerry Doyle and heard someone who sounds like Dean but I didn't listen long enough to find out. I'm now listening to Jerry Doyle streaming.
