Cecil Heftel passes

Another former Indiana broadcast owner has passed. Cecil Heftel who owned 99 and a half WZPL for a time passed away over the weekend.
Word is he also financed part of Vern Kaspar's transmitter tower and site for 99.7 during the early 80s in northern Clinton County to keep Vern from building near the Clinton/Boone county line, cutting into ZPL's metro ratings.
 
Man knew good sounding radio & how to nurture it. R.I.P.
