Cecilia Vega Joins CBS 60 Minutes

Cecilia Vega is best known for her time at ABC News and KGO-TV is now joining CBS 60 Minutes as a correspondent for the show.

NEW YORK (AP) — Cecilia Vega, more recently ABC’s chief White House correspondent, is joining the CBS TV newsmagazine “60 Minutes.”

Bill Owens, executive producer of “60 Minutes,” called Vega a “sensational reporter and storyteller,” in the Thursday announcement. Vega said in the statement that the appointment was a “dream come true.”

Vega will start at ratings leader “60 Minutes” in the spring as a correspondent.

Her first report for "60 Minutes" may be shown later this spring, but I would think she'll start working on stories for that series in the next few weeks.

Nevertheless, a good get for CBS. She’s great and will be a welcome voice. A loss for ABC.

ABC News Promotes Mary Bruce to Chief White House Correspondent

ABC has been without a chief White House correspondent since January, when Cecilia Vega left the network for a 60 Minutes correspondent role. Bruce becomes her permanent replacement.
