Cell Phones & Brain Cancer

group of experts from the World Health Organization has classified the radiation emitted from cell phones as a possible cancer-causing agent, concluding that cell phones could be associated with an increased risk for glioma, a type of brain tumor.

That may very well be, yet it would not surprise me if more people died from car wrecks while using their cell phone than were killed by cell phone-induced brain cancer.

Kind Regards,
David

We'll see in a few years. Kinda like those cops who figured it wouldn't hurt to tuck the radar guns in to their crotches. ;D

Or the old foot X-ray machines they use to have at various shoe stores in the fifties. Most of the time the outcome isn't immediate.

I remember those from the 60's. And it seems like they were "always on".

"Son, shoe sales is a life long career!"

These debates regarding whether or not cell phones may cause cancer have always seemed a little strange to me.

The truth is that no one knows for certain, so the best action is to simply keep the phone away from your head by using the speakerphone or wired/wireless extension. This practice guarantees that you'll have no worries if, in fact, one day cell phone are indeed determined to be dangerous.

Also, people are often looking to scam money and manufacturers are perceived to have deep pockets. Some years ago, I believe an engineer's widow tried to sue a transmitter manufacturer for her husband's leukemia. Another engineer found out about it and initiated a letter outlining his own health problems, claiming connection with a manufacturer's product. Some of the old hands at Continental, or perhaps Dave Hultsman might yet have a copy of it.
