CELTICS NEED A RADIO HOME AS WEEI WALKS AWAY

If WEEI isn't willing to pay, what makes anyone think 1510 WUFC has the cash?

I wouldn't be shocked to see CBS pick up the games and split them between WBZ and WBZ-FM.

Wonder if C's would pay to get games on 1510...
@bostonradio wondered if they could just
simulcast CSN cable...Is there enough money to be
made by CBS doing it especially if it means pre-empting
reg programming on ZLX, BZ AM etc (conflicts, or
pre-empting 98.5 sportstalk)

1510..if they can lure sponsors or get a really
low cost deal from C's. Fact is team may be
less interesting/not as good and Ent. didn't
want to risk the money.

On Twitter Glenn Ordway predicts C's to 98.5 w some
games on 100.7, while Mark of BostonRadioWatch
thinks it'll be 1510. Anthony Pepe talks of warming up the
quack-o-meter at 1510 (as in CMaxwell's quack, quack, quack
shtick)

Bos Sports Media, twitter saying rumors of EEI
main signal back to AM? C'mon. What, and they
could put ESPN on FM I think..totally opposite the trend to
FM. Naah, what next...Kiss 1430 AM..and Mia 108..
:)

Felger was putting down the Celtics today with polling data. He didn't make them sound particularly attractive to the average Ma fan/listener.

Tony Massarotti was the leader in polling (forget who did it) as best talk show host.

My guess is the Celtics will balk and end up back on EEI for much less. Lets face it they have no where to go and they aren't worth what they used to be. EEI will still probably give them more than anyone else and in the long run it's the best place for both of them right now. I think they are just playing hardball with eacthother. If I'm CBS why would I even want them that much right now?

I first herd about this on Felger and Massarotti surprised they were talking about WEEI on The Hub. They made a joke that Amp 103.3 should air the Celtics.

The Hub is kicking the $^@% out of WEEI so badly that it's like a jock talking about a short bus kid. They're just not in the same league.

The Celtics blew up the team to grow for the future, they can't expect to sell out all their games or make as much on broadcast rights as a results. Who do they have now? F'n Rondo and who, exactly?

IIRC Fenway mentioned (here or in another forum) about how the 1510 years really killed radio listenership for the Celtics. Some of that probably went back to the team stinking for some of those years, but they had the ECF team and weren't horrible during Doc's first couple years.

bruins on wbz am and or was Celtics on fm?? its done in Philly
