Next week on WWEC-FM, another student and I are going to be on-air for 24 hours straight beginning Wednesday, March 29 @ 11 PM and going until 11 PM Thursday, March 30. The idea first crossed my mind as a promotional stunt last year but we got involved in trying to make some other things happen and it fell through.
Besides wanting to get people talking about our event, I'm interested in the history of disc jockey/radio stunts in Central PA. Does anyone try to think outside the box with 'out-there' promotional gimmicks or does local radio keep it mostly conservative and not take risks with these types of things?
The only thing I can really think of is several years ago, either WLAN or their evening jock played Weird Al's Amish Paradise non-stop for an extended period of time. Anyone else?
