Cerebral Palsy was syndicated, I believe - just like Jerry Lewis. John Ritter did host it, with a ton of celebrity guests. It was aired on a lot of ABC stations, but did get on other network affiliates - WCPX Orlando (CBS) was one of them.

Here in Los Angeles, the telethon aired on KTTV for, I believe, its entire run. Ritter's then-wife and Henry Winkler would also serve as co-hosts for the bulk of the telethon's run.
