Cesmat returns to radio

Clear Channel must see the writing on the wall. Cutting an hour of Rome (love him or hate him, he has a loyal audience) is probably a sign that they're willing on sending him off to an upstart FM sports station if someone decides to flip.

Rome is terrible, he tells a bad joke 45 times in a row, and drooling fanboys call up to kiss his rear.

Yeah..sports radio...

Rome didn't lose an hour at all, they're just playing his show live now. Not that pulling an hour would have done anything....his numbers are non-existent.

Good pickup for XTRA. Bringing in a local host is always good. I don't get a chance to listen to radio during that time, but have tuned into Fox Sports Radio program The Loose Cannons which used to play in that timeslot. Seems like they were having fun.

While I'm glad to see Brad Cesmat working, I thought the reason why he quit KTVK is because he wanted to spend more time with his family? I would think that a 2 hour show 5 days a week is just as much work as Friday - Sunday nights. A lot of ideas sound good on paper, but different when you execute that plan.

I was driving around running errands at Noon and tuned into Brad Cesmat's new XTRA show. I listened for about 40 minutes. Nice flow. Very relaxing. Talked about national sports and Phoenix stories. Exactly what a local radio program should do.

Brad mentioned he had a full weekend with several sports/work activities planned. As I said earlier, he quit his KTVK job to spend more time with his family.

Seems a lot of "politically correct" statements now are made in sports:
Don't want to offend potential listeners, viewers, fans, etc. Whitewashed press statements are not necessarily 100% the truth. ::)

As we are seeing, Channel 3 is in a freefall.
Maybe Brad saw the writing on the wall?

Brad Cesmat will be on XTRASports910am 12p-2p.

At least that makes all three sports stations live and local during early afternoon. But Cesmat is a bit late to the party, what with local hosts on 620 and 1060 already well-established.

I wonder if Del and Jewell's kids regret the decision by their parents to sell KTVK to Belo, or did they not know that they would do major cost cutting since they took over?
