The new format is all-news from 5:30-10 AM, and 3-7 PM, with Focus 980 (John Wilson), Leafs Lunch, and Charles Adler sandwiched in between the news wheels.
As a poster on another board put it, the new format is like a jolt of caffeine in the morning. They are trying to look like 680 News but at the London level, where unlike Toronto the 401 skirts the city and there is no intra city expressway. Also, they say they have the only meterologist on London radio. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't have a problem getting a weather report from someone else reading a copy from Environment Canada.
It's too fast-paced, and they are going to have a tough time attracting listeners who are used to the likes of Rich & Elaine and Tucker, Taz & Sarah on the FM music stations, which have much higher morning ratings. On the plus side, it is a good news option for those who don't need as much sports analysis offered by rival CJBK, and it's much better than the old London Mornings show. I couldn't stand Joe Duchense's voice and constant laughter. They have a good voice in Lorenna Dickson.
And it sure beats watching A-Channel Morning, with its constant promotional segments and watered-down news coverage that includes Windsor.
