CFTO on web

It appears it has merged into the main CTV.ca website. They're not even using the legacy call sign anymore, at least not formally. The station is now referred to as "CTV Toronto".

I am told that even on their signoffs, CFTO is only referred to as "CTV Toronto". Fortunately they still mention Channel 9. I wonder if the CFTO calls are ever used on air, ever.

What about CRTC regulations concerning station identifications??

Such rules are not as strict in Canada as they are in the US -- originally, I thought Canadian stations are required to identify their calls only when they come on or off the air, but since CFTO (and, maybe, TVO) isn't doing it, I'm not sure about the exact law.

When the original A-Channel's would sign-on/sign-off, they never once ID'd.

Only CBC stations do it.

ON THE RADIO SIDE: Rogers does a pretty good job of doing Legal ID's. Even if not once an hour, some stations do it regularly.<P ID="signature">______________

Quite a few stations don't ID at all even at sign-on/sign-off. ATV signs off with a simple "Thank you for watching ATV", with no reference to any of the four stations. MCTV on the other hand has a cheezy video that displays all four stations, and of course CKY has a very comprehensive one. All CBC O&Os ID at sign-on (even at least on some of their rebroadcast transmitters), but only some do at sign-off. It is my understanding that while CBLT does not ID at signoff, CBOT does. I also understand that CFPL, as The New PL, never had a proper ID at signon.
