Ch 25's Maria Stephanos... huh ?

Watched Maria Stephanos on Ch 25 News at 10 last night. Like their news and great set but... Maria Stephanos reported on a Mid-West train accident which caused one of the trains to fall from a bridge to the highway below. Maria Stephanos reported that the train fell from the bridge and was " a near miss" to the cars below.


Doesn't a " Near miss" mean that the train actually "Hit" the cars below.

She probably didn't write the copy but isn't anyone paying attention?
 
Inexperienced producers and dimwitted anchors distribute an inferior television news product. After Channel 56 went away, I stopped watching the 10:00 newscasts from Boston. I can't stand Maria giggling all the time, and giving a commentary on the news stories she presents. Dave Wade is guilty of this too. It's a newscast, not a news magazine. The anchors should be presenting the facts only, and not including their opinions.

As far as Channel 56 goes, I do not consider that worthless "7 News at 10" to be a Channel 56 product. That program isn't even a newscast. It's full of tabloid, fluff stories...with that *** Romeo doing "entertainment" stories. Who gives a rat's ass? If you want that garbage, watch Entertainment Tonight or The Insider. I don't watch Channel 7, so why should I watch Channel 56? If I want to watch 10:00 news, I'll watch Fox 64 from Providence.

How do you know Romeo is doing entertainment stories if you don't watch their newscast?
7News at 10 is positioned for older teens and young adults who watch CW network. Thus, the content.. Makes senses if you're serving a specific target demo which they're.
I think they're a perfect news op to try something like that.

He may fund buildings at Emerson College but his name on a building brings the reputation of the college down a hundred pegs. It is true blood money. Channel 25 is not much better and it is certainly not in the class of the old Ch 56 News At 10 with Karen Marinella.

There's always NECN with that retro 70's and 80's news style feel.
 
Boris, I do not watch the new Channel 56 alleged "newscast" regularly. I watched the first few days of the new product, out of curiosity. I saw what I saw. I was not impressed. I stopped watching the station. They do not deliver the news. I can't stand the Channel 7 crap on 56 or what is on Fox 25. However, Fox 25 does deliver actual news (despite Maria giggling all the time over nothing and both Dave and Maria giving commentary on news items). If you want news at 10:00 (and if you are in the viewing area), you have to watch Fox 64 from Providence.
