Ch. 3 layoffs in Q1 '09

Hmm I wonder who is getting axed...I hope it's Patti Kirkpatrick, I'm sure she is overpaid and she just spends her money on plastic surgery anyway.
 
During the last round they got rid of a lot of people. However, if you cut one person's big salary you can always hire two young people just starting off.
 
That's what makes TV3 so popular. It always looks just like two people starting out.

What a waste of a formerly great (before Rupert) TV station.
 
Oh please for the love of God, let one of the layoffs be Brad Cesmet! I'm so tired of his idiotic "your Cards, my Cards" and everything else he blathers even an empty set would be in improvement!

I cannot believe anyone would post a comment wishing another person would lose their job for any reason (short of criminal conviction). Brad and Patti, just like you and I, report to work and use their paycheck to care of their families. You may not like their performance on-air, but you do have five other choices for English TV news on the Phoenix dial.

These are very tough times for broadcasters, whose revenue relies on other businesses' ability to advertise their product or service. Many good people are losing jobs through no fault of their own. Some are being paid to leave, others get severance, some get a used box in which to put their stuff.

I am aware of that. I was referring to the big shake up in the TV market when Rupert bought in and caused 3 to go indy, 5 to go CBS and 10 to go Fox.

IMHO we lost a great indy, gained a terrible indy, lost a great ABC VHF, gained a lousy ABC UHF and CBS swirled into Fox.

BTW, are the owners "Belo" or "Below"......I can't ever remember. ;D
