Ch-ch-changes @ Raleigh's 96 Rock?

Stay tuned for some news regarding staff changes at 96 Rock...could they be following Clear Channel's RIF plan? ???

They better not screw with this Station. I'm 20 years old, they signed on in '98 I was 7. So I grew up listening to this station. I just hope they don't do anything drastic to screw up the only rock station in the Triangle. Could this '80s weekend mean they are going Classic again (which I think they still are even though they say Everything That Rocks)?

They blew out Salt & Demtiri this summer. Blew out Blade this week. Two morning show changes in six months tells me a format change is brewing. Alli Morgan says on her Twitter feed that she was retained. That probably means we're looking at a female leaning format. Maybe something to go head to head with WRAL?

When was Blade fired? He's still on the website and participated in the telethon this week (at least on Thursday).

So could this 80's weekend be a stunt, with a new format on monday (I'm cringing when I type this because i've been a listener for 13 years.) They haven't mentioned anything on air or online. I hope nothing happens to our only Rock Station

I heard everyone was let go except Alli and Foster. Hmmm.....don't know why they would screw with the ONLY Rock Station in the area. I hope they don't change formats. God knows this market is saturated with Pop garbage (Why are there 3 stations anyway, but thats for another day). LEAVE 96ROCK ALONE!!!!!

Blade is still on the website because there is no sense updating the 96 Rock website when one for Channel 9-6-1 is going up tomorrow.

Blade's blog, updated today, mentions nothing about being fired. Neither does Adam's Twitter feed. I would hope the entire air staff would not be fired the next day after they all go on air and raise money for a hospital ... and 96.1 would certainly NOT go CHR as Channel 96.1 because the company already owns Pulse 102. Changes may indeed happen, but every single thing in this thread is mere speculation and rumor and nothing else.
Besides, it really doesn't even matter anyway. 96 rock and just about every other rock/classic rock hybrid station in this country sounds incredibly washed up, boring and stale. No real loss format-wise whatever the case.

I think they just need to tweak the sound more. Why would they change? They have NO competition!!!!! I for one would hate to see 96Rock go away because I've been a listener for so long. When someone says 96.1 what do you think of? I think 96.1=96Rock forever and always, same way I will always think of 106.1 as RDU (Me being 20, 96Rock is my RDU). They have been a station for 13 years, some people like me have been listening ALL 13 years, don't you think the management owes the listeners an explanation and farewell if it is indeed true?
