Cha Cha @ KHTS??

They no longer list her on their website.

Was she actually still working there until recently? WOW! She and I were the only two on-air people who stayed at Z-90 when it made the change from rock to urban in 1990. At one point she quit because we had a young female twit for PD, but I convinced Victor and Alex Diaz to lure her back, which they did, even giving a raise. Her real name is Karen Harlow and on air she was very, very good (even surviving Z90's ill-fated pairing of her in mornings with the lame Rene Sandoval), which is why she was later lured away to Clear Channel and 933. Hopefully she'll show up somewhere else, but honestly, once you get to a certain age, radio - with a few exceptions - kicks your butt out the door.

I was listening last week in the afternoon and there was some new jock on who I had never heard before on the statation and he said he was in for Cha Cha who was "off today." :(

Wow! I used to listen to Cha Cha when I live in San Diego. She was very good on the air there. I hope she lands somewhere soon.

I was her producer for a day once...

Did you like her?

She was pretty good as far as dj's go, and her slot did really well. Although, I never thought she was right for a CHR format. But again, she got ratings, and that's what really counts.

Personally, I didn't really work with Karen long enough to form an opinion about her personality off the air.

Nobody has. Karen was a nice enough person, but I think you could work with her for ten years and not have a clue about her life, how she felt about anything, whether she was angry or happy at any given time. etc.
