Chad "Chumley" Kerch is on Rock 1045

Great stuff. Congrats, Chad!!

Off topic from this thread but directed to Rick Schmidt.... I heard you tell a story on the air in Jax (I'm pretty sure it was you) years ago about an Adam Ant concert where the music was on tape and no one realized that the reels were "tails out". Easily one of the two or three funniest stories I've ever heard on the radio....

Wish I could say that was my story but not me (aka "Mookie" back in the day)....or I have forgotten in my old age. My guess it was Jay Cumbie, who played all the Prehistoric Planet stuff.

My memory is pretty fuzzy at this point... Was there a morning guy in the market known as J.R?
Oh yeah, at Channel X, then Planet, and WNZS somewhere in there too. I don't remember a whole lot about him, but I know that he did take jabs at everyone, even traffic reporter (at the time) John Harrell, who was probably the most mild mannered person ever to work in radio! I think John challenged him to a fight one Friday after their respective shifts.

yep, same dude. he had some good peeps at Planet...Beaner & VO guy Wil Morgan (kroq) left just before I arrived.
Crissy and Dick Dale stayed. I brought in Klinger and Chumley & Lisa. Lisa didn't gel and I promoted Sally, who later
joined Brother Wease at CMF. Crissy went to 97X in Tampa and we added Bubba for mornings and Chum went to middays.
Dick Dale left for MMS and was later replaced by Nicole Alvarez, who now does nights for KROQ.

Lots of talented peeps

Since we are on the subject of "Planet Alumni", what was the name of the board op for Bubba? She did some air time as well.

Board op for BTLS? Nicole did it for a bit. Chasey did it later. Chum...err, Chad...would probably know better since I left for 98ROCK shortly after Bubba was added to mornings.

Thanks for the kind word Schmidt!! Chasey was the board op for BTLS until his abrupt end on Planet. She stayed on and ran L&T after that.
