Chad Finns Sports radio article

Some of the replies pegged it perfectly: Sour grapes. This guy hasn't one single clue as to why WEEI is a success, and he proves it by his bold-print "advice" which belongs in the comics section of his newspaper...which reputedly loses a million bucks a month. Anyone taking bets on how long the Glob will be around, especially when articles like this seem to be the best they can do lately?

There's not much happiness anywhere in media, and leave it to the Globe--Liberal suck-ups that they are--to comprise some of the most 'unhappy' people you'll find anywhere. Much of it has to do with the demise of their newspaper and the industry; there's no return trip to the days of yore for any of them. This is their new reality. The Globe and WEEI have been at odds for years, and it's natural that the success of one (WEEI) would translate into unhinged anger at the other (The Globe). Anti-Obama/anti-Liberal rantings on WEEI also cause a large degree of hand-wringing at The Globe, which wants to pretend that the ruination everywhere you look is all just a mirage and that 'swell' will return soon.

Someone ought to knock on the front door at The Globe and simply say, 'Those days in the 1980s and 1990s with 'trickle down' economics sure were BAD for you guys, weren't they?' The clowns at The Globe never had it so good than during those 'bad' trickle-down economic days. They'll never admit as much, but it's true.

I put off reading this for a few days. I knew what I was going to get. Whatever you think of the piece it has its points of truth and a few good lines. But so what? We know what WEEI is about and it didn't take Finn to inform us.

I don't happen to like most of what I hear on the station but I don't expect to. It's the way I feel about almost any successful talk franchise. And while I give them credit I also recognize that this region is unique in its tastes and lacking in competition. As long as the station can monopolize RS/Pats talk year round it can't lose. Unlike other media --like the Globe-- they don't have to change. With the right condiditions you can be successful even if the programming is lousy.

I had never heard of Chad Finn before they started talking about him on the Big Show, the other day. Mission accomplished............he got himself noticed.
