Challenge: Put Your Face Where Your Mouth Is

Okay, State College Radio experts, fans, geeks, workers, wannabes, used-to-bes, etc. Put your face where your mouth is. Let's have brunch. Maybe a Sunday late morning in Feb or March at someplace in SC where they don't overcharge you (Denny's, Waffle House, Eat-n-Park?) and where we can all get together and talk like regular human beings.

Or how about a Saturday night in some saloon where they know who has had enough... maybe Quaker State or Otto's or somesuch.

Gargoyles...I love the idea but only the few of us who have the guts to admit who we are would show up...

I'm sure that ameyer has the bucks to fly me in from florida. So, I'm in....

AJ and I eat brunch together 3 times a week when I am in State College. I doubt that very many of the posters here would want to go and lose their unanimity but we could just meet as people with a mutual hobby. I would even be open to an open house at WGMR. (I am sure I can cut some poor air talents pay to cover the costs of the brunch -insert evil laugh here) I will buy.

I'll put my money where my big fat yap is...if the wife will say yes, that is. Count me in. :D

Count me in too!

TSimpson's offer to host this at WGMR is generous and welcome. I have no ties to any station here, but others do -- I'd like to know how they feel about showing up on a competitor's doorstep?

How do y'all feel about Sunday 2/11/07 at 11 or noon?

I'm out...I'm on the air till 1 that day.

I will buy the pizza!

I will go one further. I will hold a open mic day! Bring your cans and strap them on. We can all go on the air and see if we can raise money to ship Anywho hoo up here!

I kind of think a reunion day for air talent current in our area or that have been on the past around here would be fun for all of us and for the listeners too. It could be that Sunday and could be fun. Nobody needs to say their screen name when we all meet (kinda like a secret society) but show up. Mediatouch, top 40, and a Audioarts board its simple to run. I can hear the phoners now. One problem -As everybody knows I am too cheap to pay you!

AJ is going to shoot me!

I'd love to attend, even though I am an observer more than a commenter (tator) on this board.....not sure I can make it on Feb 11th though....if the date gets changed somehow I'll try to buzz (oops!) down.....don't change the day on my account though...because of my 2 shorts months working in State College, I am not an important guest! Nice offer though Ted!

Ben

Doesn't look like I'm going to make it, but it sounds like a fun time. Ted, say hi to your dad from me and the Mrs.

I make the motion for another date so more can attend, perhaps better weather?

Please note Ted Simpson's new thread on this topic, announcing a date and time and place. Hope to see you there... especially my personal favorites, Hermes and Aniwahaya.

(for those who can't find it, it's feb 18. a sunday, 2pm at 2351 Commercial Boulevard SC, which I'm assuming is home of ted's station.)

First Annual Altoona/State College Anydodo Open House.
