change at 99.9? fr

a promo for be a part of the change 3-31-08

Most likely it is a radio ploy to get you to turn in, and it will be nothing more than a minor change (air shift or something of that nature) of something that is already on the station.

They are the only Country station in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market, and in the last ratings phase they were 13th place with a 2.6 share, which in this radio day and age, is respectable. I really doubt they'd drop the country format.

If they do change format, maybe they'll flip with their AM and do FM Sports-Talk and for 560 they would bring back "Sun Country WQAM" HAHAHAHA ;D

Mike true it Might be part of april fools days but they were playing journey's dont stop believin in the background....... Stuart My thinking is theyll flip and let cc take country format since they book majority of the singers and plus cc took control of bayfront ampitheatre and MEGA COUNTRY 949 or 1059 or 1035 to go along the country MEGA TICKET created by ?

* not certain on the frequency but will be one of those

Country shows will do much better in a venue in Broward or WPB. There is very little conutry core in Dade. WKIS is 24th in Dade while it is 8th in Broward. Bayfront is more suited for Gilberto Santa Rosa than for Carrie Underwood.

So far, every one of your recent observations has been spectacularly and laughably wrong. The one about Alarcon selling 92.3 was a real knee-slapper.

The Journey song, by the way, was in the closing scene of the finale for the Sopranos, and has taken on an aura of mystery because of the cliff hanging close of the series. Sounds tongue in cheek to me, but of course I work in radio.

what about south dade that notably has 100.3 thunder country under the cc umbrella in which is parent of live nation which is purchasing bayfront park and if people like a performer they will go see them and dont forget downtown is going through a revitalization... yea i know david miami is north cuba and gilberto santa rosa and jaunes are just dying to perform at bayfront park lol actually when was that they played bayfront park lol know the marley fest was there couple weeks ago and anytime jaunes is here hes at aaa hmmm sounds interestin and who you work for? let me guess alarcon you probably polish a rooster every now and then huh lmao and i know alarcon will be selling

hmm. maybe it's just the logical part of me that says that they wouldn't do away with Miami/Ft. Lauderdale's only country station, which has been a mainstay on the dial for almost 20 years, but then the cynic in me wouldn't put it past any radio company to do exactly that. say what you will about modern county music (and believe me i could say plenty) but why change when you're the only game in town?

Didn't they pull this last year with something like "Kiss is about to go Urban!"?

It turned out to be a promotion for Keith Urban.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee —
I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee —
that says, fool me once, shame on —
shame on you. Fool me —
you can't get fooled again."

South Dade is mostly Mexican now... the old Homestead redneck enclave is as gone as the one in Sweetwater.

There are hundreds of Latino artists who can not fill the AA Arena who would be perfect for the Bayfront... but there are few country acts that ought to be on stage in Miami since only about 20% of Miami Dade is non-Hispanic white. Miami is Latino, Black (including lots of Caribbean Blacks) and not very non-Hispanic white any more.

If you were a little more curious, you would know who I work with. In any case, it is not SBS. However, SBS is not selling any radio and you would know this if you had listened to the investor call last week. And, the fact is, nobody is selling unless they have to as the current economic situation has prices depressed.

I have no idea, however, about what "polishing a rooster" is.

I think if they were going to change formats they'd do what most other stations do and flip without warning.

So... what happened with this exactly? I don't listen to the station.
