I hear via Facebook that 970 WFLA management has decided to part company with AM Tampa Bay's Allison Turner.

Clear Channel even let go the receptionist who has been there FOREVER. Also, accounting staff. Now, no vendors will get paid since they let go the Accounts Payable person.

It's called "downsizing".

I feel like an A** because at the moment her name slips my mind (I mean it IS 528am and I'm still up)
but she had seriously been the receptionist at the Gandy Building for 10+ years and another maybe 7-8 years before that (??) at the former Feather Sound 98 Rock/Thunder offices. ALWAYS a nice pleasant lady, that's a shame.
 
Her name is Mary Higgins. And YES she was an awesome even keeled lady to work with. I started with Dan D at the Classic Rock version of 98 WKRL in 89. And Mary came aboard shortly after the switch to WXTB. Her and her husband Carey are very cool people.

Allison would be better suited for NPR. Now then, if Jack-a-rooni would get the boot. Best AM Tampa Bay week of 2010 was with Ted Webb and Mark Larsen (Dec 27-30); whether it was natural or an act, they hit the ball out of the park! Bing, Bam, Boom! Hit the road Jack...
 
I agree Tedd and Mark knocked it out of the park. They work well together. Larsen also filled in for Schnitt last week a few days and he runs circles around Schnitt. Wonder if Mark is looking for a full time gig? I hear his voice on a lot of car and jewelry commercials, so his production house must be cranking out the work.
 
Oh, it's on now! Mark is no dummy, and he is running laps around MJ. I admit that putting MJ on AM was an interesting experiment, but it's run it's course. Pull the plug. PLEASE.

Anywho, Larsen be killin' it fo' real tho. It's been great hearing him with Teddy too, how can that pairing not warm the heart of any longtime FLA listener? Oh yeah. Hey Mark, is it just me or have you eased up a bit on your trademark pseudo-libertarian rantings? That's coming back right?

Sorry my new years resolution is not to pick on height challenged people! But if I was going to slam him I think i would say something like this:
when MJ was a child, his parents had to buy 2 him booster seats?

Newstooge, there are just some stories on here that I choose not to get involved with....
FYI.....I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius/XM.....why would i cancel it over Bubba. Yes is a talented shock Jox But I have other friends and former co-workers who are on Sirius/XM and I listen to there shows! Why the hell am i explaining myself to you anyways?
