Change at WYRK

I know that no one here listens to WYRK, so this will be a tree falling in an empty forest, but here goes:

WYRK listener here. Retirement, I assume? Even though I listen a lot to the station - and consistently to Clay/Dale/Liz - I have mixed feelings about the combination of those three (now two). I imagine it's a tough decision for him to leave. All the best, DM! Would they think of putting someone else in his spot?

He's had a great run, and he can afford to wind down. Likely there was a contract involved. Clay Moden has been the centerpiece of that show for a long time now, and Townsquare has been making moves that are costing money elsewhere. It sounds to me like both sides are handling it as gently as possible in the public forum.

I know morning guys who've made the move into management in this way. They can turn their local celebrity into a commodity in terms of working with listeners, businesses, and community groups. If this is what he'd like to do, there is precedent.

Anyone who knows Dale knows management’s not in his plans.
