Changes Afoot At CNN's "American Morning"?

It was reported that two CNN anchors would be expecting twins. The CNN anchors are afternoon "NewsRoom" host Kyra Phillips and "American Morning" co-host John Roberts. (I guess we can now dub him "the Tony Randall of cable news." :D )

With this development, CNN could be looking to make changes at their low-rated morning program, as the New York Post reports that Roberts "is liekly to move to Atlanta (from New York, where "AM" is based) to be with his fiancee."

The New York Post also reports that Roberts "is a tyrant" and co-anchor Kiran Chetry "is dumb as a rock." So perhaps changes could indeed be in store for CNN's morning show.

Maybe CNN will finally take my money-saving suggestion of simply simulcasting HLN's "Morning Express with Robin Meade."

If Chetry is a "dumb as a rock" perhaps Roberts, who considers himself a professional news person, isn't pleased with working along side of someone who got the job because of her physical attributes versus her intelligence.

Regarding your comment about Robin Meade. She would make an excellent anchor for Entertainment Tonight. As far as I'm considered Headline News has gone from reporting solid news to a Howard Beale type of journalism. I mean this network features Nancy Grace. That right there is evidence of the point I'm trying to make.

1. One could easily have the same opinion of John's new wife - thus making him a possible hypocrite, given your theory. Though I am sure both ladies got to where they are the clean way. I recall watching Chetry on "A Current Affair" in the post-Povich days... and either I'm mistaking her with Maureen O'Boyle, or "A Current Affair" with a different show...

2. I guess the higher-ups at HLN decided to let their big sister concentrate on the harder news stories; AFAIK, they still run some news programming during the day. But the opinionated shows are working for them, including the aforementioned Nancy Grace, and Joy Behar. And I think Glenn Beck also had healthy ratings during his brief stay at the network in 2008.
