Changes Afoot at KKGO-FM HD3?

One has to remember that Saul changes formats, both on 1260 and on the 105.1 HD channels, whenever he wants to and to whatever he wants to. "Successful" is not a word that enters into his decision-making process; he has made all the money he ever wanted to, having owned the FM for over 65 years now.

Besides, @david already explained his reasoning and I already rebutted same. Saul doesn't care if any of the streams show up in the ratings either.

He will turn 100 on Thursday of next week. He is entitled to do whatever the hell he wants, without any second guessing. Everyone knows how I feel about "armchair quarterbacks" doing that, so the fact that I refuse to do so either tells you everything.

Come on. Enough already.
 
The Times doesn't have anyone on staff qualified to do it. The radio news sites are more focused on format and management changes than something as mundane as a station owner becoming a centarian.

So I reached out to Wagoner myself and suggested it, and his reply was worded in such a way that I believe he will do it. (See, I can play nice, and he obviously has not taken personal offense to my previous suggestions or comments.)

Yaaaay! I certainly don't think it's mundane to feature a local ,even national story about a broadcasting legend, his past, and the accomplishment of being a successful independent radio operator in Los Angeles in this day and age. It should have appeal beyond radio nerds.
 
Before anyone thinks I got the year wrong based on the above, that Variety article appeared in December of 2018, so his age being given as 92 tracks the math properly ... he was born in 1926.
