Hey all, longtime lurker, first-time poster.

I'm a Youngstown native who hasn't lived in the area on a consistent basis in a long time (working in the radio industry does that to a person), but likes to keep his finger on the pulse of the NE Ohio/Western PA media scene.

Anyhow, I have a question about something that seems to have flown under the radar both here and at OhioMediaWatch. Last time I was in the area, Carol King (one of the sweetest people in radio I've ever come across; had a chance to work with her in a non-radio project) and Justine Thomas (maybe the best voice, male or female, in the Mahoning Valley) were each employed at BIG 106.1. Well, a quick check of the BIG website, and they are nowhere to be found. A quick check of all the Youngstown CC websites, and they are nowhere to be found.

So, what's the dealio? Simple cutback victims? More to the story than that? Can anyone shed a little light?

Her own resume on her website hasn't been updated, and still lists her at CC Youngstown. I have no idea when she wrote this page, tho.

And Froggy Meadville's site does indeed list a "Justine Green" 9 AM-2 PM with a big picture...I don't know what Justine Thomas looks like, tho, but I assume it's her.

(Yes, it's a Froggy station, they need to give the jocks frog-type names...she was probably lucky to get away with "Green"!)

If I remember correctly, Carol King also did some double-duty for sister station WNIO/1390 in the twilight years of their adult standards format.

You would be correct.

I can't believe the Froggy Meadville morning guy is only known as "Danger Frog".

Froggy Meadville's Danger Frog is actually Marty Thorn who used to work weekends on WKDD and Hot 101 before going to the old Meadville/Franklin "99.3 and 104.5 Kiss FM" prior to its flip to current incarnation as jockless Variety Hits 'Majic'
