Changes at 94.1

Let me start by saying that this is a BMP station so let's not expect anything drastic. Here we go, they’ve moved Hollywood to drive time and Lily(The Delilah sounding show) to middays- anyone listening knows that’s a yawner. The noontime mix is history as last week. And 94.1 has position itself as “Your #1 for Old School”-far from old school. This station isn’t going anywhere but down.

The problem with 94.1 is the music!! 94.1 sounds more like an oldies station than old school.

Just dont change the morrning show!!

They had a real nice playlist when they first started. Now it does sound like an oldies station, but we have an oldies station that does very well. What do you think the format flip will be? They should filp it to a jazz format or classic country. I just sure hope it doesn't turn into another hip hop station, if it flips. Which looks like it may.

Take my word or if not, look at Digital 104.1 ratings. 94.1 is far from being flipped to any type format.

I think digital and 1067 should flip there both just about a waste of space.

Put KSJL back on FM on 106.7. We need a true R&B station like Magic 102.1 in Houston

Have to correct you on KSJL, it use to be on FM 92.5 as well as simulcasting on AM 810, before hand the call letters and Urban format were on 96.1 when Inner City broadcasting owned the station and I believe Clear Channel handle the sales for the station and 96.1 was sold to CC a couple years later.

It would be nice if CC would put KSJL back on FM to compete with 94.1 it's Rhythmic Oldies format, might as well put it back on 92.5 because all the other formats they've done on that frequency haven't worked. They did Liberal Talk and that didn't show up in the ratings, I'm not sure how the new Country station is doing, but it would make sense to do it.

That makes no sense at all. KSJL was a miserable failure even when it was on a full power stick and locally produced with community involvement. Urban and Jammin oldies are two completely different targets and wouldn't compete with each other. KSJL doesn't have enough of a core audience in this market to make it viable on FM. If there was a market for it someone would else would pick up the format or at least attempt Urban format type shows. No one is.

Besides, if you listen to the outlaw there is something happening alot more as of late. The advertising is shifting from San Antonio to outlying areas. It seems like they are getting clients from the small towns to buy time. This either means they aren't able to sell it in SA or (more likely) they are activly pursuing the untapped dollars of the smaller advertisers in South Texas. Of course they also have the strip clubs buying time too since they can't buy time on K-Rock anymore. From a billing standpoint, it looks like 92.5 may have found a billable format if not one for the ratings.

Time will tell but KSJL is better off right where it is.
